Retiring power plants, 2026–2030: United States, Germany, United Kingdom and Netherlands

65.8 GW of power plant capacity is due to retire in 2026–2030 in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands: 46.7 GW in the United States, 11.1 GW in Germany, 4.7 GW in the United Kingdom and 3.4 GW in the Netherlands. Each closing frees a grid connection and the land around it.

Capacity due to retire in 2026–2030, closed in 2016 or later, and idle now, per country. US dates are what operators report to EIA; German ones come from the coal exit act and the Bundesnetzagentur; British ones from the owners; Dutch ones from the law.
