HM Land Registry INSPIRE Index Polygons
Indicative extents of freehold registered titles: one polygon per INSPIRE id (a title can have several), geometry in British National Grid, no title numbers and no owners. One GML file per local authority (318); a polygon on a boundary is in both files. Used for GB candidate sites (pipeline/spatial/gb-sites.mjs): only the districts within 2 km of a DNO substation with headroom are downloaded and polygons of 2 ha or more kept; the polygons themselves are not republished (England & Wales). Rare Context derives facts from HM Land Registry INSPIRE Index Polygons under Open Government Licence v3.0 without republishing the data itself.

No non-commercial or derived-data restriction: areas and distances derived from the polygons may be published with these statements. HM Land Registry notes that the extent of a title cannot be established from the polygons, only from the title plan. Checked 2026-10-24 |
