The 20 oil and gas licence licensees in Norway, each company counted under its ultimate parent and ranked by their recorded shares of the area of the oil and gas licences the group's companies hold. Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries leads with 427,988 ha by share across 119 oil and gas licences, ahead of Petoro AS (269,100 ha) and Eni (154,526 ha).
A group is a parent company in the data and every subsidiary under it (GLEIF, Wikidata and the UK register of people with significant control); a company with no parent in the data is a group of its own. Each oil and gas licence counts once per group, by the share the sources record for the group's companies (the larger one where two give one); oil and gas licences without a recorded share count nothing, since licensees share them.
